Celebrate National Fish ‘Bangus Festival’
in Dagupan City

フィリピンでよく食べられている魚といえば、バグス（英語名：ミルクフィッシュ、日本名：サバヒー）。「国魚」とされるバグスの産地、ルソン地方パンガシナン州ダグパン市で、３月23日（金）から４月30日（月）まで恒例の「バグス・フェスティバル」が開催される。
バグスの被り物をした人々が躍り、パレードをするストリート・ダンス「ギロンギロン（Gilon-Gilon）」（4月20日）や「フェスティバル・オブ・ザ・ノース」（4月27日）、バグスを使ったさまざまな料理を競う「バグイジーン（Banguisine）」（4月25日）などイベントが盛りだくさん。ハイライトは４月30日午後６時からのバグス・グリル。路上でのバグスバーベキューは全長約１キロにおよび、2003年に世界最長のバーべキューとしてギネスブックに認定されたこともある。ルソン島北部最大級のフェスティバルに家族で出かけてみては？　フェイスブックwww.facebook.com/DCBangusFestival/
The annual Bangus Festival is held in Dagupan City, Pangasinan from March23 to April 30. Dagupan is recognized as the Bangus capital of the Philippines .
During the festival local people in beautiful costumes dance and there are other activities to attract visitors. One of the highlights is the Bangus Grill, which will be held on April 30. Hundreds of bangus are cooked on the 1 km-long grill. In 2003 the Bangus grill set a Guiness world record for ‘The longest barbecue in the world’ .
