籾（もみ）を大胆に天日干し。雨が降ったらどうする？

ルソン島中部ヌエバエシハ州カバナトゥアンで見かけた光景。道路わきにちりばめられているのは籾。脱穀前のもみ殻に包まれた状態の米。確かにフィリピンの強い日差しならば乾燥はあっという間だろうが、雨が降ったらどうするのだろう。再び乾くのを待つのか？
Sun drying unhulled rice on the roadside… What if it rains?
The sight that I saw at Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon: unhulled rice interspersed on mats on the roadside. This is rice which is still wrapped in its hull before threshing. Certainly it will be dry in the hot sun in the Philippines, but what happens if it rains? Wait for it to dry again?
