Bicol’s Best Shines Through at Orgullo Kan Bicol 2024

In its 27th year, the Orgullo Kan Bicol (OKB) Regional Trade Fair has stayed true to its mission of showcasing the region’s traditions, culture, and craftsmanship through local delicacies and artisanal goods.

From Oct. 9-13, the 31st OKB fair drew crowds eager to sample Bicol’s iconic flavors at the Megatrade Hall of SM Megamall.

Booths swarmed with local favorites like pickled ubod, pili butternuts, sweet pili nougat, and Bicol Express to promote the region’s agricultural and culinary heritage.

Beyond food, the fair showcased Bicol’s growing fashion and home goods industries. Handwoven rattan bags and statement jackets exhibited how traditional craftsmanship can be integrated in modern design.

Meanwhile, wooden furniture, kitchen utensils, and intricately crafted ceramic goods like lamps flaunted the artistry of Bicolano craftspeople.

As the holiday season approaches, stalls featuring handmade Christmas decorations, chocolates, and wines were also popular among visitors. These goods, produced by over 100 Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), exude the Bicolano ingenuity and resourcefulness.

OKB is the longest-running trade fair in the country organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Region 5.
