釣ってよし食べておいしい魚
よく行く釣り場は、ケソン州パドレブルゴスやサリアヤ近くの海の沖。マリンドゥケの海にも行ったことがあります。
狙うのは底釣りでラプラプ（ハタ）、ビスゴ（イトヨリダイ）、ストーンフィッシュ（オコゼ）、トローリングでマヒマヒ、タニゲ（サワラ）、バラクーダ（オニカマス）。底釣りでは、主にエビ、イカ、ときどき魚の身や生きた小魚をエサにし釣ります。トローリングで使うのはラパラブランドのルアーです。たまに網を使ったトロール漁もします。好きな釣魚は、タニゲとマヒマヒですね。なぜなら、キニラウや刺身にしておいしく食べることができるから。

「ツナ」が釣れた？
釣りを始めたのは約10年前、事業が安定して、休みが取れてリラックスする時間を持つことができるようになった頃です。釣りの最中、アタリを待っているときはのんびりとしていて、いざ魚が掛かったらスリリングでエキサイティングな瞬間がやってくる。それが釣りの魅力です。こんなこともありました。ある時、友人３人で釣りをしていてひらめいたんです。私と友人Aは、こっそり仕掛けの先に「あるもの」を付けて海に投入しました。そして友人Aが「来た！これまで経験したことがない大物の引きだ！」と叫ぶと、事情を知らない友人Bは大興奮。しかし、あがってきたのはツナ缶。いたずらをした私と友人Aは爆笑していましたが、友人Bは一体何が起きたのかわからず困惑した様子でした。
実は昨年、私の釣り用ボートが台風アグハンの影響で壊れてしまい、今も使えない状態なんです。できるだけ早く修理して、また海に釣りに出かけたい。それが私の願いです。

A Fisherman’s Patience for Calmness to Turn into Excitement
I often go fishing in Quezon Province in the sea near Padre Burgos and Sariaya and once in Marinduque by boat.
The usual fish I target for bottom fishing are lapu-lapu (grouper), bisugo (threadfin bream), and stonefish, wherein I would use squid, shrimp, and sometimes fish meat or live fish as bait. For trolling, I would use Rapala Lures and usually target mahi-mahi, tanigue (Japanese Spanish mackerel), and barracuda. I also go trawling with a net on occasion. My favorite fish to catch are tanigue and mahi-mahi because they are tasty when prepared as kinilaw or sashimi.

I started fishing about 10 years ago when my business became stable and I was able to have time off for myself. The reason why I enjoy it is because of the calmness and relaxation I feel while waiting for a bite, but once a fish gets hooked, everything turns into a thrilling moment of excitement and a potential challenge.
On one of my fishing trips, my friend and I had a brilliant idea to prank our other companion. We hooked a can of century tuna on our line and tossed it into the sea, then screamed and pretended to be excited as if we were about to get the biggest catch of our lives. We caught our friend’s attention, and he became ecstatic with our convincing act. When the can of tuna finally came into view, we burst into laughter, and our friend was left dumbfounded and confused.

During the typhoon Aghon last year, my boat got hit badly and has since then been unusable. I plan on having it fixed soon so that I can start going out to sea again and have more fishing adventures.
