首都圏マニラ市マビニにある人材派遣会社と提携する日本語学校、インフィニティ・スキル＆テクノロジーディベロップメント・ファウンデーションでは、日本で働くことを目標にフィリピン人が学習に励んでいます。
初級クラスでは月曜日から金曜日、朝８時から午後5時までみっちり日本語のスピーキング、リーディング、リスニング、ライティング、そして日本の文化も学びます。期間は３～４カ月。教えるエリクソン・エンシサ先生自身、OFWとして日本で働いた経験の持ち主です。その国の文化、環境に順応し、その国の言葉で会話ができることこそ、海外で成功するための重要な資質だと強調します。

Infinity Skills and Technology Development Foundation Inc. is a TESDA-accredited language school that provides beginner classes for Filipinos eager to learn the basics of the Japanese language. With 14 years of experience, they not only teach the language but also share insights into Japanese culture. Partnering with recruitment agencies, they have successfully produced Japanese Language Certificate holders who now work in various prefectures across Japan.
The classes span 3 to 4 months and are held Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the duration adjusted based on students’ learning competencies. Mr. Erickson Encisa, who’s also a former worker in Japan, now works as a sensei, teaching 50 subjects each semester, categorized into four areas: Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening. His goal is to enable students to converse in Japanese while adapting to the local culture, which he describes as a vital “weapon” for thriving in a new country.

日本で働きたいと思っていて、そのために日本語能力試験合格を目指しています。日本語を学ぶのは、自分にとって大きな挑戦です。言葉そのものを覚えるだけでなく、発音やイントネーションを理解しなくてはなりません。学校では初日にあいさつ、50音をひらがな、カタカナを学びました。言葉の言い方によってフォーマルだったり、カジュアルだったりするのは面白いと思いました。

“There’s a huge adjustment for me from speaking Filipino and learning Japanese. I find it quite challenging because it’s not only about knowing the words; understanding intonation and pronunciation is crucial, as each variation can change the meaning. On our first day, we learned greetings and the alphabet, specifically hiragana and katakana. I find it fascinating that there are both formal and informal ways of expressing words in Japanese.”
