Freediving is when you freely move underwater in a single breath to explore and bask in the land engulfed by the ocean. Located 2-3 hours from Manila, Anilao, Batangas is a hotspot for divers around the globe because of its many dive sites where you can see magnificent coral reefs and vast marine life like crabs, fish, Nudibranchs, and so much more!
When it comes to this activity, it is very important to learn the basics first before diving right into the water. One of the first things to build on is breathwork. The longer you can hold your breath, the longer you can stay underwater and control your movements. Neglecting this can also be dangerous and lead to unwanted accidents, which is also why diving alone is highly discouraged.
Despite the dangers and difficulty, it can be a tranquil experience once learned.
