A Visual Feast:

Artistic Visions Brought to Life at Komiket 2024

More than 500 artists from across the country came together to showcase their creative talents at Komiket 2024, held on October 12-13 at SM Megamall’s Megatrade Halls 2 & 3.

Since its debut in 2015, Komiket has become a cornerstone of the Philippine art scene, giving artists a space to display their work and spark conversations on social issues through their creations. This year’s event was no exception, drawing in crowds of art enthusiasts, collectors, and those simply seeking inspiration from local creators.

Stalls brimmed with komiks, zines, stickers, prints, trinkets, and fan merch you would not find elsewhere. Attendees were also treated to live drawing sessions, where they could commission personalized portraits from some of their favorite Filipino artists.

During our visit to Komiket, we had the pleasure of meeting Marius BlackArt, the creator whose work explores the beauty hidden in the mundane moments of Manila’s urban life.

We were also graced by the presence of the creative minds that birthed the Pedro Penduko, Bernardo Carpio, and Maria Makiling comics. Their booth was a hit among fans of Filipino mythology and superhero comics.

With tickets priced at just PHP 100.00, Komiket 2024 was not only an accessible event but also a fantastic opportunity to discover new artists and support local talent.

Missed this year’s Komiket? Be sure to follow their social media pages for announcements on future events, and let’s keep supporting creators making waves in the local art scene!
