韓国で行われた第12回ＤＭＺ国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭（9月17日〜24日）の国際コンペティション部門でフィリピン人のアリックス・アイン・アルンパック監督の「ＡＳＷＡＮＧ（アスワン）」が最優秀作品賞「ホワイトグース賞」を受賞。
国際コンペティション部門の審査員特別賞（準グランプリ）には森達也監督の「i－新聞記者ドキュメント－」が選ばれた。
映画祭名にあるＤＭＺは、韓国と北朝鮮国境の非武装地帯（the Korean Demilitarized Zone）を意味する。ウェブサイトhttp://www.dmzdocs.com/eng/
映画「アスワン」は、フィリピン、フランス合作映画（2019年） 。ドゥテルテ大統領が就任後に始まった麻薬戦争により、売人や麻薬使用者に対して超法規的殺人まで行われる混迷の中で生きる人々の姿を追ったドキュメンタリー。タイトルのアスワンは、フィリピンの伝説上の妖怪の名前にちなむ。
アスワンの模型（民俗学センター／マリキナ市）。死体を貪り食い、血を吸う。獲物を探すために人間や猫、犬、豚に姿を変える。長い舌で病人や新生児の生き血をすする。また妊婦と胎児を襲うとされる。
映画「アスワン」は、フィリピンのドキュメンタリー映画祭「ダアンドキュ（DAANGDOKYU）」ウェブサイトで10月9日から配信される。
