Lion’s Head

　マニラから車でバギオに向かうとケノンロード沿いに突如現れる「ライオンズヘッド」。ライオンズクラブが建立し、イフガオ族の工芸職人らの協力も得て1972年に完成した。現在の色になる前は真っ黒だったとか。バギオの山々が連なる壮大な緑を背に、なかなかの迫力。隣には土産店もあり、タホ売りのおじさんはライオンの影でお昼寝中だった。駐車スペースもあるので記念撮影を兼ねた休憩ポイントとしても寄ってみる価値はあり。目の前の道路はカーブで視界が悪く、車も多いので撮影時は注意！　SMシティバギオからタクシーで約30分。

高さ12メートル超えのライオンズヘッド。目下の訪問者と合わない目はどこを見ているのだろう・・・ Lion’s Head over 12m high! No one knows where this Lion is looking at…

The Giant Lion Welcomes You !

Lion’s Head suddenly appears along Kennon Road when reaching Baguio. It was built by Lions Club of Baguio in 1972 with the help of Ifugao sculptors. With a magnificent view of the Baguio mountains at the back, the lion looks quite powerful. Since there are souvenir shops and parking spaces, it is worth stopping by as a rest point while taking photos. Be careful of cars when shooting.
