Jones Bridge and Filipino – Chinese Arch of Friendship

　ビノンドとイントラムロスを結ぶジョーンズ・ブリッジは1919年に建設された。戦争で破壊されたが、1946年に再建。2019年11月に改装工事を終え公開された。夜にライトアップされ、インスタ映えスポットとしてにぎわう。橋のたもとにそびえるのは、高さ19.4メートル、幅22メートルの世界の中華街にあるアーチの中でも最大級のチャイナタウン・アーチ。その後ろにフィリピノ・チャイニーズ・フレンドシップ・アーチがある。「ビノンドめぐりの出発はジョーンズ・ブリッジがおすすめ。写真映えする人気スポットです。2015年にできた大きく新しいチャイナタウン・アーチよりも、私は1970年代にフィリピン人と中国人の長い友好関係を記念して造られたフレンドシップ・アーチの方が好きですね」

The Jones Bridge, which connects Binondo and Intramuros, was originally built in 1919. Destroyed during the war, it was rebuilt in 1946 and refurbished in November 2019 . At the foot of the bridge, the Chinatown Arch, which is the world largest Chinatown arch outside China, 19.4 meters in height and 22 meters in width, welcomes visitors.
‘Definitely start your Binondo journey by walking across the bridge as it has undergone renovation work in the last few years. A lot of visitors now make time to cross the bridge and have their pictures taken here. At the back of the Chinatown Arch is the older Arch of Friendship. It was built in 1970s to celebrate the long relationship between the Chinese and Filipino community’.
