　「ライスを食べないと食事をした気がしない」「麺はすぐにお腹が減る」。このように公言し、日頃メリエンダにカップ麺を食べるフィリピン人の同僚を見ているので、麺は食事よりメリエンダだと思っていた。しかし、意外な結果が出た。時代は変わりつつあるのか？

“Without rice, it is not a meal.” I would often hear Filipino people say that. But in the poll more Filipino people answered that noodles dishes are a meal. The Filipino’s “No Rice , No Life” eating habit is changing ?

Q２: 好きな麺料理は？（複数回答）

　パンシット・カントンをはじめフィリピンの麺料理の名前が挙がる中、最も支持を集めたのがラーメン。日本人としてうれしくもあり、ラーメンのフィリピンでの浸透度を改めて実感。スパゲティも麺と言われたら、そうなのかもしれないけれど、何か違和感があるのは私だけだろうか。

Among pancit varieties, pancit canton got the most votes from 20 Filipino interviewees. Surprisingly ramen is the most popular noodle dish! There will be Filipino style ramen in the future as Filipino style spaghetti was already born.
