　今飼っている猫３匹、パイ、オラフ、チビは全部保護猫です。オラフはパイとチビと友達なのですが、パイとチビはあまり仲が良くありません。ケンカはしませんが、一方が遊んでいると不機嫌になり大声で鳴きます。

　子どもの頃、親戚が猫を世話するのを見るうちに私も猫好きになりました。飼うのにそれほど広いスペースがいらず、ほとんど家で寝て過ごしているので飼いやすいのも猫のいいところ。のどを気持ちよさそうに鳴らしたり、紙袋で遊ぶのを見ると本当にかわいらしく、その仕草に笑ってしまうこともあります。また、耳の後ろの毛がとてもやわらかくて好きですね

　猫は人になつかないと言われることがありますが、実際のところ、私の猫はいろいろな方法で愛情表現をします。私といつも一緒にいたいようで、私が仕事をしている部屋や、浴室にまでやってきます。朝は目覚まし時計代わりに起こしてくれます。　猫は外に出しませんが、コロナ禍前は日曜日に猫をアヤラ三角公園に連れて行きました。特にオラフはリーシュを付けて散歩し、あちらこちら探検するのが好き。

　旅行などで不在にする時は信頼できる友人に家に来てもらって猫の世話をしてもらうか、獣医さんに預かってもらいます。

Cats Show Affection in Many Ways

I have three cats. They are all rescued and adopted. Olaf is a friend of Pie and Chibi, but Pie and Chibi are not friends. They don’t fight but sometimes when they are playing, one of them will get irritated and meow loudly. I started to like cats because of my cousin who also took care of cats when we were kids. Cats are adorable when they are purring. My cats playing with a paper bag make me laugh. I like the fur behind their ears because those are very soft.

It is said that cats are aloof, but they show affection in different ways. My cats usually want to stay in the same room where I am working and even in the bathroom. They also wake me up in the morning like an ‘alarm clock’.

I keep my cats in the house and do not let them go outside. Before the pandemic, I would take a cat to the park in Ayala Triangle Garden on Sundays. Olaf loves to explore and walk around on a leash.
