友人とめざす山頂 冒険と自分癒しの旅

　コンクリートジャングルの喧騒から離れ、自然の中でリフレッシュして心身共に元気になりたい。そんな時、私は友人とリサール州ロドリゲスのバラグバグ山へ行きます。

　ビーチリゾートへの旅行とは一味違って、一番のおもしろさは山頂にたどり着くまでの道中にあります。信頼できる友人とのちょっとした冒険のような旅にはもってこい。気力、体力を使って行き着く山頂から見渡す壮大な景色は、何度見ても思わず息をのむほどです。テントに泊まって夜景を眺めると、空気が澄んでいるので月もくっきり見えます。自然の中で癒されると同時に、自分自身と向き合い、雄大な自然や、一緒に旅する仲間たちへの感謝の気持ちがわいてくる瞬間です。

　最後にバラグバグ山に行ったのは2019年11月。いつかバラバグ山周辺の山からマラナトの滝へと抜けるルートを探索するのを楽しみにしています。

　バラグバグ山へはマニラ首都圏ケソン市クバオからジープを乗り継いで１時間半～２時間かけて行くこともできますが、近くのバランガイには駐車場があり、車で行くことも可能。ハイキングコースが整備されていて、バイクでのツーリングやサイクリングもできます。バラグバグ山で迷う心配はあまりないと思いますが、もし初めて行く方で不安な場合は、フレンドリーな地元の現地ガイドさんを事前に予約することをおすすめします。

Into the Wild for Refreshing and Revitalizing Myself

Craving for a retreat from the hustle bustle concrete jungle and longing to refresh myself in the nature, I head to Mt. Balagbag, Rodriguez, Rizal with friends. It’s not a lavish getaway in a beach resort, but a perfect destination for us to travel with a sense of adventure.

After walking on the mountain trail for hours, the breath taking, stunning view welcomes us on the top of the mountain. Staying overnight in the tent, you see the moon with vivid brightness in the crisp and clean mountain air.

I went to Mt. Balagbag last in November 2019. I look forward to exploring the trails laid in the surrounding mountain and then traversing to Maranat Falls and jumping into it.

It takes one to two hours to get to Mt. Balagbag from Cubao, Quezon City by jeep. As there is a parking lot in a barangay nearby, you drive to the vicinity of the mountain.

Mt. Balagbag is good for hiking, motorcycle touring and cycling as the trail is modestly paved. It’s unlikely to get lost in the area, but a friendly local guide is highly recommended if you’re new to the area.
