スターゲイザーさん フィリピンで「異世界の母」と呼ばれるスターゲイザーさん。1980年代から霊能者として活動を始め、主に人や場所・空間、物体などに取りついた悪い気を取り除き、清めるサービスを提供する。テレビ、ラジオへの出演も多く、2019年に番組の中で霊能者としてただ１人、コロナ禍の発生とオンラインによるビジネスの隆盛を予言し、的中した。 Stargazer is a well-known psychic who can be considered the mother of the paranormal field in the Philippines. She has been professionally practicing psychicism since the 80s and guested on shows like Rated-K and XXX: Exklusibong, Explosibong, Expose, as well as Magandang Buhay to share her yearly predictions. She currently has a radio show on DZMM TeleRadyo called “Feel Kita,” where she tackles all things paranormal. Her main service focuses on clearing negative energy in spaces, people, objects, and the like. During her free time, Stargazer loves to travel and often gives talks on topics like aura, positivity, and colors to share her knowledge with anyone who wants to learn.

ほかの子どもとは違う女の子

　スターゲイザーさんが特殊な能力を持つ子であることに最初に気付いたのは、彼女のおばあさんでした。５歳のころすでに、見えないものが彼女には見えたり、話したりといった行動をすることがあったそうです。例えば、おばあさんと夜タクシーを乗っていたとき、暗闇なのに木にサルがいるのが見えました。おばあさんに言うと「サルに話しかけないで」と言われたのですが、それはおばあさんはサルではなく幽霊だと思ったからでしょう。
　そんなことをスターゲイザーさんは怖くは感じていませんでした。そして、アテナオ・デ・マニラ大学での学生時代、心理学部教授でもあるハイメ・ブラタオ神父のもとで学んだことで霊能力が研ぎ澄まされていき、霊能者スターゲイザーとして知られるようになりました。スターゲイザーという名前は、ユリの花の種類にちなみます。

心霊スポットで見たもの

　スターゲイザーさんは霊能力だけでなく、心理学や科学領域にも精通しています。
　「超常現象と断定する前に、まずは科学的に説明できる可能性をすべて排除できなくてはなりません」と述べ、ラジオ番組を通じて超常現象とは何か、そして超常現象とされるものは実際には私たちが思う以上に、普通の現象であることが多いことを伝えています。
　一方で、こんな経験も。テレビ番組の撮影で心霊スポットとして知られるマニラ市トンドの古い民家へ行き、階段を登っていたとき、突然スターゲイザーさんが立ち止まりました。ほかの出演者には見えないものが見えたのです。しかし、何を見たかはその場でほかの出演者には言いませんでした。そして、最終編集の段階で亡霊が写っているがわかりました。彼女には、フィリピンの伝統的な女性服であるマリアクララを着た女性と男の子の亡霊が見えていたのです。

霊能力は誰にでもある

　スターゲイザーさんのところを訪れるのは、迷い、心の導きを必要としている人たちです。悪い気を取り除く場合には、どんなオーラ（霊気）かを見極め、何をすべきかを判断します。祈り、香を焚き、長年の修練による儀式を行うことで、悪い気を退散させますが、その実体を消滅させることはできません。それゆえ、定期的に除霊が必要なのです。最初の除霊を終えた後、良い気を保つ方法を伝授します。
　スターゲイザーさんは、霊能力は誰もが持っているものであって、どんな力を持っているのかを知り、年月をかけて磨き上げるかどうかの違いなのだと言います。
　「霊能力を持つことは、特殊な力を手に入れたということではありません。通常とは違うことを理解する手助けをし、進むべき道を示すことなのです。見えないもの、未知のものは恐れるものではなく、知って学び、理解するもの。そうすることであらゆるものと調和し、生きることができるのです」

The Paranormal, The Spiritual, and the Unexplainable

There is more to the world than what meets the eye, and so much to discover from the many we already kn ow. The unknown can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be feared. Sharing with us her stories and experiences, Navi Manila interviews Stargazer, often referred to as the most credible psychic in the Philippines.

The Blooming of a Stargazer

As early as 5 years old, Stargazer’s grandmother noticed she was different from other children. She would see what cannot be seen and act in strange ways. She wasn’t afraid of it, but rather, thought it was something natural. Growing up, the thirst for knowledge was always present, but college was when she began to truly hone her abilities under the guidance of Father Jaime Bulatao, a Jesuit priest and Chair of Ateneo de Manila’s Department of Psychology at the time. Now, after years of learning and practice, she is known as “Stargazer.” Named after the flower and renowned in her field.

Paranormal Escapades

Stargazer is well-versed in not only Psychism but also in Psychology and the sciences. Before ruling something out to be paranormal, all scientific possibilities of a situation should first be exhausted. Through her radio show “Feel Kita,” she explains the unexplainable and talks about paranormal phenomena in a way that makes viewers understand that they’re more normal than we think.

One memory Stargazer shared with us was during a shoot for Rated K when they were ghost hunting in an old house in Tondo. They were going up the stairwell when suddenly, Stargazer stopped and saw something the others couldn’t see. She refused to describe the entity until the final edit of the episode was finished. Sure enough, an apparition of a lady wearing Maria Clara attire and a little boy was at the spot she was looking at.

Psychism in Life

People who seek psychic assistance are usually those who are lost in life and need guidance on a spiritual level. When it comes to clearing negative energies, she looks at the characteristics of an aura and assesses what needs to be done. A mixture of spirituality, prayers, and incense is used to disperse negativity through a powerful ritual that took years of practice to execute. Negativity and entities cannot truly be destroyed, which is why clearing spaces should be regular. After doing the first and main clearing, she would teach her clients how to maintain the renewed positive energy.

According to her, everyone has psychic abilities; it’s only a matter of finding what you have, taking the time to hone them, and being your authentic self. Psychism isn’t for obtaining power but for helping others understand the unusual and giving people direction. The unknown is not to be feared, but to be learned and understood so that we can live in harmony with the universe.
