8th YEAR ANNIVERSARY THIS DECEMBER

　同僚や友人のグループがビールを飲みながら盛り上がっている。カウンター越しに店の主人と客が和やかに言葉を交わす。にぎやかな店内をウェイトレスが冷静に、しかし愛嬌を忘れずにハイボールを運ぶ。

　日本で見慣れていたこんな光景が、マカティの川崎にある。ご主人の川崎圭太郎さん（写真中央）の人柄が醸し出す、懐かしい居心地の良さを求めて、今夜も人が集まってくる。

　「フィリピン駐在の前任者から紹介されたと、新しく着任された方が来店されます。本当に光栄でうれしいことです。最近は若い方も増えてきましたね」
　この12月で８周年を迎えた川崎は中日ドラゴンズファンが集まる店としても知られ、サッカーの国際試合の日には熱気に包まれる。忘年会のシーズン、５万ペソから貸し切りもできるので、会社の同僚や気の合う仲間とゆっくり、じっくり楽しめる。

　「白子、カキなど、12月は季節物がおすすめです。ぜひお得な刺身も楽しんでください」

　来年の抱負を聞くと、レストラン以外のこともやってみたいと返ってきた。「家族やみんなでわいわい楽しめるような場所をやってみたいですね。日本人もフィリピン人も一緒に楽しめるように」

　熱心なダイバーでもある川崎さんは、今年の年末年始はアニラオとプエルトガレラへダイビングへ出かけるとのこと。店も12月24日から来年１月２日まで休業となる。早目に予約した方がよさそうだ。
