おしゃれな田舎の非日常空間的リゾート

　気軽に行けるリゾートで同僚の誕生日を祝おうと、昨年、旅行制限が緩和された時期に３日間、ルソン島北部ラウニオン州ウルビズトンドビーチ（Urbiztondo beach）へ行きました。マニラから車で北上すること５時間、おしゃれな街並みと、タガログ語でいうProvince（田舎）な雰囲気が残っていて、まさに気軽に楽しめるリゾートでした。

 
　夕方には浜辺にライトがともされ、アジアンテイストな雰囲気も味わえます。心地よい海風に吹かれ、生バンドの演奏を聴きながら美しい夕日をバックに楽しむディナーとお酒。最高でした。ラウニオンの食事は、ガーリックライス（Sinangag）と目玉焼き（Itlog）にコンビーフやステーキなど１品を加えた定食スタイルの「シログ（Silog）」がよく出てきます。

　ウルビズトンドビーチの魅力は、なんといっても透き通る美しい海とホワイトサンドの砂浜！　朝、目覚めとともにホテルの部屋の窓から見渡す青く澄んだ海は格別です。有名なサーフィンスポットが多く、スキューバダイビングやカヤックなどマリンスポーツも盛んです。地元の人も外国人にフレンドリーでした。

　ラウニオンは宿泊施設が多く、コスパ重視のものから高級リゾートまで予算や目的に応じて選べます。ちなみに私のホテル選びは、立地や食事よりも雰囲気や部屋からの景色重視です。

　旅行の楽しみは現地での体験や帰宅後の余韻もありますが、それ以上に楽しいのは出発前の準備。家族や友人、恋人と旅行を計画している時こそ、何よりも楽しい時間だと思うんです。　　　　

Extraordinary Birthday Bash on the Stunning Beach  

In 2021, when the travel restriction was eased, my colleagues and I had a ball at my colleague’s birthday party on the Urbiztondo Beach in La Union. It’s just five hours drive from Metro Manila to reach the stunningly scenic Urbiztondo Beach. In the relaxing sophisticated resort with Asian atmosphere, we had a great time to have local food while listening to the live band music and watching the beautiful sunset. The crystal-clear sea, white sand beach, the spectacular view from the hotel room in the morning were all beyond description.

The Ulbiztondo beach is famous for good surfing spots, and you’ll never be bored with marine activities such as scuba diving and kayaking.

La Union offers a wide range of accommodation to fit your budget and purpose. Personally, the atmosphere and scenery from the room are more important to me than location.

Traveling is fun. We are happy while being at the travel destination. However, in my opinion, more enjoyable part of traveling is when we are planning the trip with your family, friends, and partners before departure. What do you think?
